Paid Wikipedia editing describes an arrangement: someone is compensated for their contribution. Professional Wikipedia editing describes the way the work is approached. Being paid does not, by itself, establish either competence or poor practice.
When choosing an editor, I would look at the questions they ask, the evidence they examine and the boundaries they explain before accepting the work.

Professional judgement starts with the evidence
A new article and an update to an existing article are different projects. For a new page I identify the relevant notability route, assess the evidence and develop a neutral draft that demonstrates the substantiated case. For an existing page I check the proposed changes against the sources and the article’s context.
A professional editor should explain why a source supports a claim, why a proposed passage needs changing, or why the project should not proceed. That judgement is part of the service. It cannot be replaced by a promise to publish whatever the client supplies.
Be clear about the work and its limits
Ask what the quoted fee covers: research, drafting, references, review, implementation and revisions are distinct pieces of work. Ask how additional requests are handled. A clear brief helps both parties understand the commission.
Wikipedia remains independently edited. Paying for preparation does not purchase an article or guarantee that a particular version will remain live.

Confidential preparation
I do not publish client material or use it in a public portfolio without permission.
How I work in WikiNative Studio
Sources, drafts, comments and revisions stay together in a private workspace. You can review a passage in context and see how the work develops. I use private testing to identify sourcing, wording and formatting problems before taking the work forward.
My explanation of WikiNative Studio shows how the software supports that editorial process. The subscription provides the platform; editorial projects are scoped and charged separately.
Choose the right starting point
For a new subject, begin with a Preliminary Notability Assessment and the page creation process. For proposed changes to an existing article, use the editing and Preliminary Viability Assessment process. Both services are available through your Studio account.
Read the current plans and project fees and about my work before commissioning a project. If you are deciding between a company article and a biography, this comparison explains why they need separate assessments.
